'We recently used Tod Peterson, from Peterson's Property Search to purchase a unit off the plan in Darwin. We are not locals and have, in fact, only been to Darwin once, so we had almost no knowledge of the local real estate market. We were keen to invest in high-growth real estate and had identified Darwin as a potential location. We realised we could make a major financial mistake if we selected a unit in the wrong area, or purchased off the plan from a less reputable developer. So we sought out a buyer's agent to act on our behalf to identify suitable properties.

Tod came well recommended by several previous clients. Through Tod's regular contact, we gained general information about the Darwin market. He also provided more specific information about various developments, and some already constructed units which were available. He provided 'on the ground' local information, so essential to us as interstate purchasers. Tod's contacts with and knowledge of the quality of construction by developers was of great benefit. His advice, gained from extensive experience in the investment market in Darwin, was particularly informative. This helped us focus on what we reasoned to be the best investment option available to us in order to maximise our returns.

Tod did not pressure us and he listened to our preferences. His guidance was provided gently and wisely. He was even patient when we were very particular about the fine print of the contract! He provided suitable local legal contacts, which resulted in exchange on the unit of our choice, purchased off the plan - a very satisfactory outcome for us.

As our unit is not yet completed, we have no proof of the validity of our selection, however, we feel confident we have made a sound decision.
